In Loving Memory: Ian “Poods” Barry 1990-2012
Ian “Poods” Barry. Never met anyone with a heart as big as his. He thought of everyone before himself. He loved his family, friends, skateboarding and motorcycles. We’re going to miss skating our bowl and going on adventures with you brother. Thanks for always making us feel special and showing us how we should all love one another. You had a personality like no other and we’re proud to call you our family. Your legacy will live on forever.
Poods didn’t have any tattoos but when he decided to get one he gave himself a stick and poke tattoo of a little heart. My brother Peter asked him “why a heart” and he replied “Because I love everybody”… We all love you Poods. – David Stoddard

Our hearts go out to the Barry family at this most painful time. Ian was one of a kind and will be missed. A gentle and sweet soul. Be in Peace, my son.

God bless him, may he rest in peace. Touched a ton of
Lives, glad I got the chance to meet him.

I see Ian
skating above,
riding rails
in a tumble
of clouds, now cresting,
with the tide,
carving initials
in a blaze of glory;
electric arc,
ringing bright constellations
of luminescence, trails
of lovelight,
scattering stardust
dreams around this
nearly full autumn equinox
harvest moon . . .

Thanks, Brixton, for posting this. I’ve been blue and this helped brighten up my day. And thank you to any and all of the photographers for taking these gorgeous pictures and sharing them with the world. Ian was my cousin and although he and I weren’t as tight as I wish (I live in CT), these pictures mean a lot to me. It’s cool to see him with his friends and his passions. Thanks,
Dan Barry

My deepest sympathy to Ian’s family, friends, and associates.
He was a loving person, and widely loved.
Excuse me, but I had posted a poem, here, but now I don’t see any comments? I hope your “blog” can share the tributes and condolences posted by those who were touched by Ian.
I saw the family at the overlook yesterday, and they were sobbing, just devastated. What a tragedy; but he led a full life; yes, full of love!
