Brixton Wednesdays on Wax: The Murder City Devils and The Misfits
This week we have the newest Murder City Devils release and The Misfits 1st release, enjoy!
The Murder City Devils – Every Day I rise 7″
We are proud to share The Murder City Devils new 7″ with their first new recordings in 10 years. MCD is a favorite of ours at Brixton, they managed to keep a certain aspect of rock and roll alive when it was getting really tough to find… and then they abruptly broke up. We can’t wait to see if we get a new full-length from them and hopefully a tour as well. We are really stoked on these two songs, seems like they picked up where they left off with Thelema, here’s “Every Day I Rise” and “Ball Busters in the Peanut Gallery”. And big thanks to the band for sending this to us!

The Misfits – Cough/Cool 7″
Who better to pair with MCD than The Misfits (Especially the first edition of the group with synth)? This is the first recording that The Misfits released all the way back in 1977, before the gore-themes and devilocks. These recordings undoubtedly remain my favorite tunes from them, they are so much different then their more popular material but still have that raw edge they became known for. Here’s “Cough/Cool” and the 1st version of “She”.

It’s like your whole post was meant to introduce this, then you forgot to do it.

Pretty awesome as it is but they should have covered the Misfit’s demo version seeing as it just plain rules and has the keyboard and all.

I gotta say, I was bummed the new 7″ picked up where Thelma left off. Anyways, top notch music blog. You’re always on point.
