Brixton Wednesday’s on Wax: The Pogues and Leonard Cohen

For this week’s Wednesdays on Wax we bring you some songs that tell a story by  The Pogues and Leonard Cohen.

The Pogues are an all-time favorite of everyone here in the office. The Pogues gained popularity in the 1980′s with their punk-inspired Irish Folk Rock. Although they’ve broken up and reunited several times, they have recently been touring with original front man Shane McGowen and are quoted as “50 Bands To See Before You Die” from Q Magazine.

Amazing Leonard Cohen. I really love him. Leonard Cohen is back with a great new album, Old Values – plus more sense of humor and also wisdom. Old Ideas is simply awesome. Are you aware he was born in Montreal in 1934 ? He was really a poet before becoming a musician and performing. You can get Old Ideas from Amazon … http://goo.gl/oZH6N
